Good Concept, Needs Work
Dear Taco Bell:
Chips and Salsa Fresca on the menu?! Yes and Yes. Or so I thought. Let me just say, for the buck fifty I spent on it, I would have thought I’d get more than 7 chips. Oh, yes. It was all too easy to count them. Also, your chips are a tad too dainty and crispy to hold up to salsa fresca. I mean, I’d love to use the chip to scoop up some salsa, but they are just so light and fragile and keep flaking into pieces. Light and flaky is good for pie, not tortilla chips. Oh, and FYI -salsa without peppers (nope, none at all) is like cereal without milk. Why bother?

Happiness Is For Sharing
You know that good feeling you get inside when you see a bus full of little kids waving at you, and even though people are watching, you wave back? Yeah, it felt like that. :)
So there I was, sitting in the drive through at the bank waiting for my transaction to be completed. That’s when I saw him. He had just exited the bank and was sauntering across the parking lot with a jaunty step. Since my window was down, I watched him, casually, from the corner of my eye. But as he crossed in front of my vehicle, he noticed me sitting there and my eyes were drawn up. (Ever notice how uncomfortable it is to know someone is looking at you while you are trying to act like you don’t know they are looking?) Smiling, he begins waving at me. Now, I don’t mean one of those little waves where you barely lift your hand up, as if to say “hey, how are ya?” Nooooo, this was full-fledged, major moving, side-to-side wave –with lots of emotion. And me? I broke out in a full grin. I couldn’t help myself. Here’s this happy old man walking with a spring in his step and choosing to share some of his happiness with me. Sure, I was surprised at the wave, but I think I was more surprised at how one little action completely changed my attitude. I wasn’t have a bad day or anything –just an average work day. But his wave was so unexpected and silly that I couldn’t stop thinking about it. In fact, even after my transaction was completed and I had pulled back into traffic, I passed up my left turn because I was still thinking about this happy man. Why was he so happy today? Maybe he just finished depositing a big lottery win or maybe he had just made the final payment on his mortgage. Or maybe it was just because of the beautiful weather we are having. Whatever it was, he shared it with me and I am having a better day because of him. Now where’s that bus full of waving kids...
